We're adaptable. As life changes, we may not like it but we adapt and go on. Many of the adaptations we make are painful. Smokers - you've become the outcasts of society. We kick you out into the frigid temperatures to partake in your addiction - and YOU GO!! We despise your odor and we put you as an Absolutely Not on dating sites but you trudge on, adapting to society's dismissal of you. We can't have you around the babies and you've heard the lung cancer speech a hundred times but you are willing to give it all because you believe you cannot quit and you don't know what you would do without a cigarette and You Like It. Over eaters - you have created a life that revolves around what you have to do to survive and food. You're constantly thinking that as soon as you lose the weight you will be able to go out, have fun, go on vacation, enjoy sex, get a date. The list goes on and on. Your lover is food and it is slowly and surely killing you while it entices and comforts you. So much time is going by and you believe you have no power to become your beautiful, real self. And you cry because your relationship with this lover is empty and sad.
STOP buying into the propaganda of your habits. Yes, that's all they are. HABITS that have been going on for so long that you can't see a way to change them. The good news is that YOU don't have to figure out the way. There are plenty of professionals out there who know how to help you and it is much less costly than what you are willing to pay every day to keep up habits that are robbing you of the joys of this lifetime.
If you believe in a God, can you imagine for a moment, the end of your life and God asking you what you thought was the most magnificent aspect of this lifetime, what you gave it all up for and your answer is - cigarettes? or the lunch buffet at Double Dragon?
