It's not unusual for someone very close to you to be woking against your self improvement. Your number one saboteur, my friends, is YOU. You have lots of recorded messages in your brain that you play over and over and they can take the wind out of your sails. The first one is that you shouldn't spend that much money on yourself. BUT your brain does let you spend nearly $7.00 a pack for cigarettes daily or $20 at the fast food window or the bakery. You can eke out money for "calming" herbs and another self-help book but to make a real investment in your SELF goes against the brain programming. "You're not worth it" plays inside. You are uncomfortable making your SELF a priority. Everyone seems to come before you. "You're fine the way you are" plays in your head but you aren't happy. You're uncomfortable or stressed or you stink from cigarettes and you are feeling like an outcast.
"What if you fail again?" It taunts you with your fear of failing and throws you off-track but the one program that you don't ever realize is "what if you are successful? what would have to change?" Especially with WEIGHT LOSS and general SUCCESS. How will your life change? Maybe it's just too scary and you may not like your present situation but it is nonetheless, comfortable because you are used to it. WEIGHT LOSS affects every aspect of your life. As you become slimmer and healthier, you become happier, sexier feeling, more adventurous - willing to get out there, try new things. More pleased when you look into the mirror. Your confidence level rises and you become an active participant in your life.
I recently had a circumstance requiring me to invest in my SELF. For weeks before the deadline I thought of every reason why I could not afford to make that commitment. They were all true and logical. The morning of the last day I woke up with the words "if you don't invest in YOU, then who will?" It was the best decision I could have made. I did it and haven't regretted a moment of it. It takes courage to risk and bet on your SELF. LIfe slips through our fingers while we think about taking a chance on ourselves. Courage, courage. If YOU don't believe in your SELF enough to invest in YOU then who will?
